Moyse's Hall Museum

2015 ended with the creation of a few ideas for how we can vastly improve our Heritage Service for parents and children. These ideas will seek to make the collections more accessible to parents with young children, and will also try to offer spaces and activities that children under 5 can experience and learn from.
Due to the fantastic response to ‘Brick City’, a travelling exhibition built in Lego Bricks that will be at Moyse’s until 24th April, these ideas have been pushed back; largely due to us being able to use Lego, Duplo and fun trails for toddlers and children while the exhibition is on. There are also craft workshops which, while aimed at the 5 to teens, always carry an element suitable for toddlers. Check our Facebook page, ‘Moyse’s Hall Museum’, for more information and updates.
This year we would like to create a morning once a week for parents with under-5s to be able to come in and enjoy the museum. This would include access to the Classroom for a hot drink and social area for parents to meet and chat. St Edmundsbaby will be given updates as and when these improvements are made. The service are looking to re-start 'Little Steps in History', a great club for parents with under 5s to explore our beautiful Historical Sites in a sensory way. In addition we're starting a Museum and Archaeology Club (MACs) for older children and teens for which there will be an under-5 branch called Mini-MACs. Please contact Dan for more information
The Heritage Service would like to thank Steph at St Edmundsbaby for coming in and offering ideas and feedback for our plans; many of which we hope will come to fruition before the summer. If anyone has any ideas, suggestions or feedback; don’t hesitate in contacting Dan at Moyse’s Hall. [email protected]
